Metronome consists of a series of 11 large scale digital pigment prints and one large scale wire sculpture, and small moquette wire sculpture. Walls covered in aluminum foil create an immersive environment, as the backlit prints appear to float off the walls and reflect their images on empty walls. the space is filled with the sound of an echoed metronomic water droplet plays on a loop in the background. Influenced by the warming gesture of a metronome, repetition, and the stability of time, the work visually references interference patterns caused by ripples on the surface of water. Colorful and optically charged, the works play with the flattening of space and the affect of pattern and recursive gestures. viewers are invited to enter the space with their shoes removed.
